Pabna poet Omar Ali gets help for treatment

Noted poet Omar Ali, who fell victim to paralysis a year ago, was taken to Lab Aid Hospital in the capital yesterday after getting financial assistance from the prime minister office (PMO).
The initiative for his better treatment was taken on publication of reports on the physical condition of the poet in different newspapers, said family sources.
The Daily Star also published a report on September 11 calling for his proper treatment.
“Responding to the appeals, PM's Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad asked me over phone to apply to PMO along with photograph of the poet for financial assistance on Monday”, said the poet's son-in-law Md Rafikul Islam.
“Poet Omar Ali is the pride of Pabna. We are happy that the government and private institution Lab Aid extended their helping hands to the nationally awarded poet.” said Shibojit Nag, former principal of Government Bulbul College and former colleague of the poet.
