Order on Mollah's pleas Tuesday
The Supreme Court will pass its order on Tuesday on two petitions of convicted Jamaat-e-Islami leader Abdul Quader Mollah seeking its intervention so that two judges abstain from the proceedings of appeal against his war crimes trial verdict.
The two judges are: Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha and Justice AHM Shamsuddin Choudhury.
The International Crime Tribunal-2 on February 5 sentenced Mollah to life term imprisonment.
On April 4, Mollah filed the petitions with the Supreme Court seeking its directive on the two judges’ abstention from the appeal.
The four-member Appellate Division bench headed by Chief Justice Md Muzammel Hossain concluded hearing on the petitions on Monday and fixed Tuesday for passing order.
