Opposition parties creating anarchy in name of hartal
The BNP-led 18-party alliance is creating anarchy in the country in the name of hartal, said Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif yesterday.
“The opposition parties are enforcing hartal without any reason and creating disorder by setting fires to vehicles and government properties,” he said at a discussion organised by Krishibid Institution Bangladesh in memory of late president Zillur Rahman.
As the BNP leaders, including its acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, are playing key roles in these activities, the state will obviously file cases against them, added Hanif.
“Only a few days back, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir told his party men not to attack the vehicles carrying food items and medicines and ambulances. This means that other vehicles can be torched. So, a case can be filed against him for his instructions,” he said.
Hanif alleged that BNP leaders are falsely accusing ruling party men of torching vehicles to shift the blame from them [BNP].
Recalling contributions of the late president, the AL leader said Zillur Rahman would have been a great asset to the country in these trying times.
“Now we can feel the importance of the presence of Zillur Rahman as the ongoing conflicts might have been stopped by his advices,” Hanif said at the discussion organised at Krishibid Institution.
