“Observation of Nature and Study”

Department of Fine Arts, University of Development Alternative (UODA) is organising a group art exhibition, titled “Observation of Nature & Study”, set to inaugurate today at Drik Gallery, Dhanmondi. Some 28 artists are taking part in the exhibition, themed on nature and its varied aspects.
The exhibit is the outcome of a recent workshop, where the participating artists who had visited several sites in the country for inspiration, came together to exchange views.
Artists taking part in the exhibition include are Alauddin Ahammed, Sagar Sen Gupta, Tania Tripti, Hasan Al Faridi, Mritika Saha, Fatema Akter, Alam Sabrina, Nasib Khan, Arifur Rahman Topu.
At the exhibition, Sagar Sen Gupta has highlighted pastoral life, green horizon, riverine beauty and boats of Bangladesh. Flat-wash is the predominant technique in his work.
Tania Tripti's work depicts some vessels in a shallow river. Subdued colours and insight into the subject make the image outstanding. Rubayia Saom Dina's watercolour highlights blossoming flowers. Yellow, emerald green have been used in the work.
Saha Alam's work shows a muddy road where some trees lend an impressionistic appearance. Scribble lines are also visible in this mixed media painting.
Villages and everyday chores have been articulated in Arifur Rahman Topu's work. His lines are lyrical and spontaneous. Alam Sabrina's watercolour has diverse tonal effects, featuring the focus on the subject. Blue and yellow are noticeable colours in her work. Shahjahan Ahmed Bikas's watercolour is engrossed with pure forms and
compositions.
The exhibition ends on April 27.
