NU to go by exam schedule
The National University has decided to go by its earlier schedule for Honours Part-3 part examinations from January 24.
The decision was taken yesterday amid the examinees' demand for shifting the examination date to the end of March or giving chance to "less prepared" students to appear in the next session in July without loss of session.
The decision was taken at a meeting of NU officials with VC Prof Aminul Islam in the chair, said a university press release.
Examinees who are unwilling to appear at examinations beginning on January 24 will get chance to appear in the next session in July under the old syllabus, but they will be considered as examinees of the next batch, the press release said.
But the agitating examinees are demanding that those who will appear in July must be considered as examinees of the 1998 batch.
The NU authorities also sought cooperation from teachers and guardians so that examinations can be held peacefully from January 24.
The examinees earlier threatened of strike in all colleges in the country from January 23 if their demands are not met.
