Model judgeship in Ctg proposed
CHITTAGONG, Jan 29: A judicial conference held here today unanimously supported a proposal for turning Chittagong judgeship into a model judgeship with a view to speedily disposing of cases, an official handout said, reports BSS.
The conference held at the Ejlash of district and sessions judge Siddiqur Rahman Mia under his chairmanship was attended by all judges, additional district judges, district magistrates, additional police superintendent, district bar association president and the secretary and government pleaders.
Speakers at the conference expressed the opinion that creation of a model judgeship at Chittagong court would create a very congenial atmosphere for speedy disposal of cases. Complainants, police, lawyers, magistrate and judges will act promptly in their own sphere to help settle cases at the shortest possible time, they said, adding police will have to complete inquiry, submit chargesheet and present the witnesses in time and then judges and magistrates can dispose of cases speedily.
Speakers at the conference included additional district judge, District Bar Association President Nurus Safa Talukdar, first class magistrate and the additional SP.
