MIST students attend training programme in USA
A training programme, tilled “Climate Reality Leadership Corps Training”, was held in Chicago, USA from July 30 to August 1. “Climate Reality Project”, led by former US Vice President AL Gore, organised the training programme. The aim of this project is to create awareness in order to take actions against climate change all over the world, including Bangladesh. Salman Sakib and Muradur Rashedin, two students of Civil Engineering Department at Military Institution of Science and Technology (MIST), were selected as climate leaders from Bangladesh to attend the programme. They will carry out awareness raising activities in Bangladesh.
The Dhaka Mercantile Co-operative Bank Ltd helped the students financially under their corporate social responsibilities. Chairman of the bank, Belayet Hossain, provided financial assistance to the students on July 24, 2013 at the corporate head office of the Bank.
