'Millennium tree' planted at Nat'l Press Club

Bangladesh Environmental Journalists' Association (BEJA) celebrated the new millennium by planting a 'millennium tree' on the Jatiya Press Club (JPC) premises at one minute past midnight on Thirty-first night, reports BSS.

JPC General Secretary Swapan Kumar Saha planted a sapling of Nagheshor, a rare and long living trees of the subcontinent.

Former JPC general secretary Shafiqur Rahman, BFUJ Secretary General Akhter Ahmed Khan, BEJA leaders Golam Mohiuddin Khan, Subhash Chandra Badal, Arun Dey, Kazim Reza and Monoj Roy were present on the occasion.
