Milk Vita suspends deputy manager for graft
The authorities of state-run dairy firm, Milk Vita, yesterday suspended a deputy manager of its Khulna plant on charge of misappropriation of Tk17 lakh.
A special audit shows that the deputy manager, Hamidul Islam, has transferred the company's fund to his own account with anomalous bank cheques, said a press release.
The authorities also fined Dr Md Ashrafuzzaman, officer-in-charge of Milk Vita's Ramganj plant in Laxmipur and its laboratory superintendent Tk 66,000 on charge of irregularities in milk procurement.
Mohammad Munir Chowdhury, managing director of Milk Vita, said the efforts must go on to bring back financial and administrative disciplines in the firm.
