Mercantile Bank signs deal for ReadyCash service
Mercantile Bank signed an agreement for ReadyCash card service on Tuesday, says a press release.
For the first time, a private bank will be able to offer the same safety and convenience that ReadyCash cardholders have been enjoying from the public sector bank branches.
Since its inception, Mercantile Bank has emphasised product-based banking and the ReadyCash product will be a welcome addition to its other modern banking products.
As a private bank, it is believed that even more customer service will be available to Cardholders. Not only will cardholders benefit from the user-friendly branches of Mercantile Bank, but cash-withdrawal features will soon be available at many shopping locations during extended hours.
Actual card issuance is expected to begin in February this year. However, a pre-application system may be announced at an earlier date.
M Taheruddin, Managing Director, signed the agreement for Mercantile Bank while Thayne Whipple, Director, signed it on behalf of AII/AIBD, the provider of ReadyCash service.
Abdul Jalil, Minister for Commerce, Lutfar Rahman Sarkar, Chief Advisor of the bank and former Governor of Bangladesh Bank, AIB President M J Islam and secretary M E Islam, were present at the signing ceremony.
