Major parties urged to hold talks
Stressing the need for negotiation over the next national elections under a non-partisan government, speakers at a seminar yesterday called upon the two major parties to hold a dialogue immediately.
They also criticised the government for arresting the bloggers at the seminar organised by Nagorik Oikyo in Jatiya Press Club in the capital.
The Oikyo Convener Mahmudur Rahman Manna said the Awami League had deviated from its ideology by compromising with Hefajat-e-Islam.
Executive Editor of the daily Samakal Abu Saeed Khan and constitution expert Shadheen Malik were also present.
