EDITOR'S NOTE

Over the past one year, I have greatly enjoyed my role as part of the team at Star Literature, first as deputy editor, and now as editor. Working with so many talented writers ─ seasoned ones as well as newer voices ─ has been a wonderful experience. The purpose of this literary venture on Eid is to showcase and celebrate their work. In these pages you will find short stories, essays, poems, and translations ranging in style and tone from humorous to serious and from personal to public. Well known and well loved writers appear alongside the younger writers who will follow them, all in conversation with each other in various ways. The Star Literature team hopes that in the difficult times we are going through as a nation, the creativity and vitality represented here will be a welcome relief, restorative and sustaining to the spirit.
