Land acquisition done in 3 districts: Land minister

Land Minister M Rezaul Karim Hira on Monday said the government finished land acquisition in three districts for the Padma bridge project.
The minister was replying to a question from BNP lawmaker ABM Ashraf Uddin Nizan at the parliament, reports Bangla daily Prothom Alo.
A total of 2452.42 acres of land have been acquired from Shariatpur, Madaripur and Munsiganj, while 260.86 acres of land have been taken over by the government, he said.
An amount of Tk 13.91 crore has been allocated to compensate the owners of these lands, of which 12,532 have already been compensated, the minister added.
