Kite festival in Manikganj

Shatadal Sangskritik O Shamajik Sangathan organised a kite festival on a Jamuna char under Shibalay upazila in Manikganj on Sunday afternoon. The organisation arranged the event to celebrate Pahela Baishakh.
Shibalay Upazila Nirbahi Officer AKM Galib Khan formally inaugurated the festival.
A large variety of kites including Koira, Chila, Patenga, Ful, Biman,
Moyur were flown at the festival. Hundreds of people from all walks of life gathered at the event.
The organisation awarded 17 kite-flyers who participated in the festival. Hafez Gayen of Dakkhin Shibalay village became first, while Mukul Mia of Shibalay Bandar Bazar became second and Rasel Mia won third prize.
