Khulna road blockade withdrawn
A road blockade programme called by the Khulna Bus-Minibus-Coach Owners' Association and Khulna Motor Workers’ Union was withdrawn two and a half hours later after it was enforced Monday morning.
The blockade was enforced demanding a suspension of plying of all kinds of human haulers on city roads and highways.
The association leaders decided to call off the programme after the superintendent of police in Khulna assured them of fulfilling their demand, reports our Khulna correspondent.
Earlier, the road blockade was enforced from10:00am that had cut off the district from rest of the country.
Md Anwar Hossain Sona, acting secretary of the association, said they had enforced the blockade programme as the authorities concerned did not meet their demand by Sunday.
Earlier on Thursday, the association leaders threatened to enforce the programme from Monday if their demand was not met.
