Jubo League man's tendons cut in Sylhet
Unknown people armed with sharp weapons cut the tendons of a Jubo League activist's legs in Akhalia area of Sylhet city on Tuesday night.
The condition of Dulal Ahmed, 30, being treated in Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital for cuts also in the back, was improving after an operation, said doctors.
Some 10 youths on five motorbikes attacked him in Topobon housing area around 11:30pm Tuesday, said his friend Sattar Ahmed, who was accompanying him at that time. The attackers fled the scene abandoning a motorbike as locals rushed in.
Officer-in-Charge of Sylhet Kotwali Police Station Md Akhtar Hossain said they arrested two activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir--Saidur Rahman and Shahin Ahmed--in Madina Market area yesterday morning on suspicion.
