Jubo League leader murdered in Rajshahi

Unknown assailants murdered a Jubo League leader by cutting the carotid arteries of his neck and the tendons of hands and legs in Bakhrabaj area of Rajshahi city Sunday night.
The deceased, Anwarul Islam Anar, 35, general secretary of the city's ward-29 unit Jubo League, was admitted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital as clinically dead at 9:30pm Sunday, said Dr BK Dam.
Anar suffered at least 25 stabs to the neck, wrists and legs, and he was declared dead seven hours later at 4:30am on Monday, he added.
The city Jubo League President, Ramjan Ali, blamed Islami Chhatra Shibir for the murder.
Police said Anar was attacked in Dashmari area. Locals rescued him hearing his screams.
A murder case was filed against 10 to 12 unknown persons with Motihar Police Station.
