JU drama festival begins today
A 6-day-long drama festival titled 'Two Decades of Glory' begins at Jahangirnagar University (JU) today. Jahangirnagar Theatre (JT) organises the festival as part of their annual programme. It will be held at the university amphitheatre Muktamancha.
Vice-chancellor Prof Jasimuddin Ahmed will inaugurate the festival.
On the opening day "Shakuntola" will be staged.
A reception will be given to Sarder Fazlul Karim for his contribution to education tomorrow. It will be followed by the drama "Tringsho Shotabdi".
"Nritya Puran" will be staged by Desh Natok on January 21.
On the 4th day on January 22, a reception will be accorded to Mamunur Rashid for his contribution to drama Aronyak will stage 'Sangkranti' on that day.
The Education Puppet Development Centre will stage a "Puppet show" on January 23. The puppet show will be followed by a drama titled "Bou" to be staged by JT.
The council of Jahangirnagar Theatre will be held on the concluding day of the festival on January 24.
