JS told : 486 recruited in Biman during June '96- Jan 4

Minister for Works Engineer Mosharraf Hossain yesterday told the Jatiya Sangsad that 59 officers and 427 employees were recruited in the national airlines during June 1, 1996 and January 4, 2000, reports BSS.

Replying to a question from BNP member Sarwar Jamal Nizam from Chittagong-12 who was absent from the House, the minister said that of the total, 12 officers and 54 employees were recruited from Dhaka district.

The minister also told the Jatiya Sangsad that most of the abandoned airstrips have already been repaired and new stal ports were built where private stal air services were introduced.

Replying to a question by treasury bench lawmaker from Dinajpur M Mostafizur Rahman Fizoo, the minister said Bogra and Khanjahan Ali airports are under construction.

Besides, he said, steps are being taken to repair again the Shamsher Nagar Comilla, Thakurgaon, Lalmonirhat, Tejgaon and Ishawardi stal ports to make them functional.
