Jamaat calls hartal in Sylhet for Tuesday
Jamaat-e-Islami has called a daylong shutdown in Sylhet district for Tuesday in protest against Sunday's attacks on the houses of Sylhet city leaders.
Sohel Ahmed, the city unit’s assistant secretary of Jamaat, confirmed the programme to The Daily Star, reports our Sylhet correspondent.
A group of activists of Juba League and Bangladesh Chhatra League vandalised and torched the houses of acting ameer of city Jamaat Sayef Ahmed, nayebe ameer Hafiz Abdul Hai Harun and 3 others at the city’s Pashchim Pir mohalla area on Sunday afternoon.
