Iron rod-laden truck looted

Miscreants looted an iron rod-laden truck from Dhaka-Chittagong highway in Dhaka after beating the trucker and his helper early yesterday.
Jatrabari police rescued the trucker Kamrul Islam and his associate Sumon unconscious from Demra road in the capital's Matuail.
They regained sense last night at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
A relative of Kamrul said they were informed by the police over the phone which number was found in the victim's pocket.
The relative said they were carrying the rods from a factory of Meghna Ghat to the capital's Tejgaon.
Askir, quoting his cousin Kamrul, told The Daily Star that the criminals stopped the truck as one of its tyre got flatted.
