Int'l Youth Congress in Ctg from October 17
The four-day 'International Youth Congress' (IYC)' 2003, first ever of its kind, will be held at the port city of Chittagong on October 17.
The theme of the congress of this year is ' AIDS/ HIV and combat of youth society against the Drug." A preparatory meeting was held in this regard at a local hotel jointly organised by the Drug Control Department (DCD) and Bangladesh Integrated Rural Based Association (BIRBA).
Presided over by Monowara Hakim Ali, congress director of IYC' 2003 and the president of BIRBA, Chittagong while Mohammad Salam, director general of DCD and chairman of the IYC was present as the chief guest.
Shahidullah Khan, Chittagong police commissioner AKM Zainul Abedin (Bir Protik), BIRBA founder Khabir Uddin Ahemd, officials of the BIRBA, DCD and Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) were also the meeting.
The first National Youth Congress (NYC) was held in Dhaka on November 1-3 last year.
