Hockey team in Youth Olympics
The Bangladesh youth hockey team qualified for the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics after reaching the final of the U-16 Asia Cup Five-a-Side Hockey Tournament beating Japan 8-5 in the semifinal in Singapore yesterday.
Earlier in the day, they thrashed Korea 11-2 to book their place in the semifinals as the Group B champions. Nayeemuddin scored five goals while Deen Islam and Ashraful scored a brace apiece. Sagar and Roman scored the other two goals.
Bangladesh will play the final today against Pakistan, who beat Malaysia 6-0 in the other semifinal yesterday.
