Hiron's PS enters BCC building 'forcefully'

A personal secretary to immediate past mayor of Barisal City Corporation (BCC) Shawkat Hossain Hiron allegedly removed some documents from Barisal Nagar Bhaban after assaulting night guards and entering the building by force early yesterday.
The guards -- Malek Fakir, Rafikul Islam and Md Faruk, said Hiron's personal secretary Md Alimullah came to the Bhaban around 12:10am and asked them to open the gate.
Although Alimullah was requested to come to the bhaban during office hours, he entered the building by force and came out with some documents and files, they alleged.
Contacted, Alimullah, who is also an official of the local government ministry, denied the allegation of assaulting the night guards.
He, however, admitted that he entered the BCC building to collect a seminar paper kept in his office.
The seminar was scheduled to be held at Manikganj today, he added.
Nikhil Chandra Das, chief executive officer of BCC, said usually no official files are kept under the custody of personal secretary to the mayor.
“Alimullah informed me today that he went inside the nagar bhaban Monday night to collect his personal documents on his way home after performing prayers of Shab-e Barat at a nearby mosque, he said yesterday.
