HC clears way for new gas connection
The High Court on Tuesday cleared the way for the government to give gas connection to the customer.
The court withdrew its November 8, 2012 order that directed the government to stop further gas connection to the customer.
The HC bench of Justice Naima Haider and Justice Zafar Ahmed passed the withdrawal order after hearing a petition filed by advocate Manzill Murshed on behalf of Human Rights and Peace for Bangladesh.
The petition, filed on March 11, said that sufficient gas is now being produced and, therefore, new gas connection can be given.
The same organisation last year asked the HC to stop gas connection.
