Hasina cooks for son on birthday
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina takes charge of the kitchen cooking a special meal to celebrate her son Sajeeb Wazed Joy’s birthday at Gono Bhaban on Saturday. Joy posted the picture on his Facebook profile wall.
Despite her busy schedule, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina made some time to cook food for her only son Sajeeb Wazed Joy on the occasion of his 42nd birthday on Saturday.
Joy posted a photograph of his mother on his Facebook profile that shows Hasina wearing white sari and a striped-kitchen apron is cooking chicken at her official residence Gono Bhaban like a typical Bangalee affectionate mother.
The photograph shows the premier with her one hand stirring meat in a pan and holding it with another.
Joy, the eldest grandson of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, celebrated his birthday in a low-key manner with his family members including his wife Kristine Overmeyer, their daughter Sophia and sister Saima Wajed Putul at Gono Bhaban.
In the photo caption, Joy has written in English, “A special treat for everyone. The prime minister cooking chicken pulao for me! Her pulao is really the best I have ever tasted.”
According to the official Facebook page of Joy, 1816 people posted like and 692 shared the photo as of 7:55pm.
The prime minister has also launched an official Facebook profile on this occasion. The same photograph has seen posted there.
In his Facebook page, Joy has given reasons for celebrating his birthday in a low-profile. “Today we are not celebrating [birthday] publicly for a different reason. Yesterday [Friday] one of our Member of Parliament Mr. Golam Shabur died in a tragic car accident. Our deepest condolence and sympathy to his family. May his soul rest in peace.”
He thanked everyone for all the birthday wishes. “It is really wonderful to be able to celebrate my birthday surrounded by friends and family in Bangladesh. Kristine and Sophia are here, along with my sister and her clan - she has four kids. The only ones missing are my aunt and her kids.”
