The government will have to take responsibility if any anarchy takes place centring Hefajat-e-Islam’s long march towards Dhaka on Saturday, BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia said on Thursday.
Alleging that the people loyal to the government have chalked out different programmes to 'foil the Hefajat programme', Khaleda said the party has rights to protest, if people’s religious sentiments are hurt.
She said this while addressing a condolence meeting at Satkhira Boys High School ground on the recent deaths of people in 'police firing' in the district, reports our correspondent who is accompanying Khaleda’s motorcade.
Hefajat-e-Islam Bangladesh, a Qawmi Madrasa-based organisation, last month announced the long march towards Dhaka to press home their several-point demands including the passage of law under which “highest punishment” would be delivered to the “atheist bloggers who insulted Islam.”
