Four suspected killers of schoolboy Miraz held

Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested four suspected killers of Reazul Islam Miraz, a class VI student of Jhikorgachha BM Pilot High School, with the help of mobile tracking.
The arrestees are Ariful Islam, son of Akterul Islam of Joykrisnapur village, Motiur Rahman, son of Ismail Hossain, Mohsin Reza Shaheen, son of Yusuf Ali of Laujani village, and Mamun Chowdhury Mukul, son of Golam Hossain of Laxipur village under Jhikorgachha upazila in Jessore.
"Acting on a tip, Rab men arrested Ariful Islam on Wednesday night. Following his confession, three others were arrested afterwards," Jessore Rab-6 camp commander Major Razib Ahsan said at a press conference yesterday noon when the suspects were brought before journalists.
Miraz, 11, son of Mizanur Rahman of Laujani village under Jhikorgachha upazila in Jessore was abducted on November 20 when he was riding a bicycle at Laujani School ground.
Abductors made several mobile phone calls to Mizanur, a medicine shop owner at Laujani Bazar, asking for Tk 25 lakh as ransom for release of his son. They also took Tk 8 thousand through a Bkash account.
Meanwhile, his family members filed a general diary and Jhikorgachha police started drive.
On the night of November 23, Jessore Kotwali police recovered his dead body from a canal at Narangali village under Jessore Sadar upazila.
Tracking down the mobile phone and Bkash account, Rab found the whereabouts of the criminals and arrested them.
