Four oil, gas distribution firms go on strike in Khulna
Four distribution organisations in Khulna division stopped extracting oil and gas from Meghna Petroleum Limited since yesterday to remove AKM Akter Kamal Chowdhury, assistant general manager of the company in Khulna, over an alleged bribery.
The organisations are Bangladesh Petroleum Dealers' Distributors' Agents and Petrol Pump Owners' Association, Padma Meghna Jamuna Tank Lorry Workers' Welfare Association, Khulna Divisional Tank Lorry Workers' Union, and Tank Lorry Owners' Association.
Gazi Hafizur Rahman, general secretary of the petrol pump owners association, alleged that breaking serial, Kamal distributed oil and gas to his favourable dealers in VIP quota after taking bribe. However, Kamal denied the allegation.
