Four arrested by Rab on five-day remand
Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) on Wednesday night arrested four people, including a couple, in the case for killing beauty parlour owner Shahjadi Farzana Boby here on March 27.
The elite force also recovered two bullets from the couple's possession.
The arrestees are Mozibor Rahman Likhon, his wife Baisakhi Khatun and their two accomplices Ruhul Amin Rubel and Helal Uddin. Likhon is son of Mizanur Rahman of Thanapara area in the town.
A Kushtia court placed the arrestees on five days' remand yesterday.
At Rab-12 Kushtia unit office, Captain Mosaddek Ibne Mujib told the journalists yesterday that they arrested the four from Bheramara railway station when they were leaving for Dhaka on Wednesday night.
The four had gone into hiding after the killing, he said.
The killing was a sequel to a feud between Likhon and Boby over their alleged extra marital relation, Rab sources said.
Rab said that Likhon shot Boby while his wife Baisakhi was an wetness to the incident on March 27. The killing took place at the house of Boby at Kataikhana where she ran the 'Glamour Beauty Parlour'.
Ruhul Amin Rubel and Helal Uddin were Likhon's accomplices, Rab said.
Boby's husband Mollah Abu Shams filed a case with Kushtia Model police station accusing four people including the couple.
Kushtia Model police produced them in chief judicial magistrate court at noon praying for a 10-day remand. The court however granted five days for quizzing.
