Flag procession across country Monday
Youths at Gonojagoron Mancha called upon the countrymen to hold a national flag procession to their nearby Shaheed Minars on Monday to counter the hartal called by Hefajat-e Islam.
Heavily criticising the hartal called by Hefajat, Gonojagoron Mancha organisers announced a set of programmes including a call for strike in all educational institutions across the country on Tuesday.
However, all academic procedures for HSC exams remain out of the purview of the strike.
Other programmes include a two-hour sit-in starting at 11:00am on April 10 in front of the law ministry in the capital.
The youths who started demonstrating since February 5 demanding death to all war criminals announced the fresh programme at a grand rally at Shahbagh intersection on Saturday.
The declaration came hot on the heels of the announcement of Hefajat-e-Islam, a so-called Islamist group, to enforce a countrywide hartal on Monday.
The Islamist group on a Saturday rally at Motijheel demanded stern actions against the Gonojagoron Mancha youths, terming them as "atheists".
