Five arrested in Bogra potter killing case

Police arrested five people on charge of killing potter Romen Chnadra Paul at Shekerkola Paulpara under Sadar upazila early yesterday.
The arrestees are Mamata Rani Paul, 25, wife of the deceased, Pobitra Chandra Paul, 20, son of Gobindra Chandra Paul, Dukhu Chandra Paul, 19, son of Robin Chandra Paul, Bhikkhu Chandra Paul, 20, son of Nittya Chandra Paul, and Arjun Chandra Paul, 22, son of Gopal Chandra Paul of the area.
Romen Chndra Paul was hacked to death allegedly by the cohorts of his wife on Monday and dumped at an eucalyptus garden near his house.
Romen's brother Niren Chandra Paul filed a murder case with Bogra Sadar PS the same day.
Senior ASP of Bogra police Nazir Ahmad Khan told this correspondent that on the basis of alleged extra-merital relation between Pobitra and Mamata police came to know the names of others involved in the killing.
Mamata and Pobitra have confessed to having their hands in the killing with the help of Bhikku and Dhuku, said the ASP, adding that their confession was recorded in the court yesterday afternoon.
