Fitra fixed at Tk 66

Fitra has been fixed at minimum Tk 66 and maximum Tk 1980 per head this year.

Islamic Foundation fixed the amount at a meeting on Thursday with Prof Maulana Mohammad Salahuddin, Khatib of Baitul Mukarram national mosque, in the chair.

A press release issued after the meeting said the Sadqatul Fitra was fixed taking into account the market prices of wheat, flour, dates and other items.

Fitra can be given in cash or kind.

Maulana Abdul Jabber, poet Maulana Ruhul Amin Khan, Prof Sirajuddin Ahmed, Mufti Md Mahmudur Rahman and Mufti Md Ahmed Ali, among others, attended the meeting.
