Ershad thanks people for observing hartal

Jatiya Party Chairman H M Ershad has congratulated people for observing the 18-hour hartal despite "attacks and repression by ruling party terrorists and police on opposition activists", reports UNB.

In a statement yesterday, he said their demands are yet to be realised and the government has not responded to the four-point demand.

"We have to continue the movement until our demands are met," Ershad said, demanding immediate release of those who were arrested during the country-wide hartal.
