Directives to complete HPSP projects timely
The Health Ministry yesterday directed the authorities concerned to complete different projects under Health and Population Sector Programme (HPSP) within the stipulated time utilising the allocated money properly, reports UNB.
The directives was given at a high-level review meeting of different ongoing projects of the Health and Family Welfare Ministry with its minister Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim in the chair.
The meeting also decided to provide training to field level 9,888 Health Assistants who will be placed at the Community Clinics within two months. The meeting was told that the government has a plan to provide such training to 45,349 Health Assistants in phases. A fund amounting to Tk 4 crore was earmarked for the purpose.
It was also decided to expedite the work to prepare the infrastructure of health sectors in thana and district levels. It also laid stress on the completion of upgrading the thana and district level hospitals within the scheduled time.
State Minister of the Ministry Dr M Amanullah, Health Secretary Syed Alamgir Faruq Chowdhury, chief engineers of CMMU, LGED, PWD and concerned officials, among others, attended the meeting.
