Dipu Moni leaves for 4-nation trip Aug 29

Foreign Minister Dipu Moni, who set a record for foreign trips, will begin a fortnight-long four-nation tour to the US, the United Kingdom, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates from August 29.
In the last four and a half years, she paid 188 visits and is expected to take up more, said foreign ministry officials.
Dipu Moni will undertake a nine-day tour to the US to attend a pre-UN General Assembly meeting in New York and meet Bangladesh-appointed lawyers working in the international maritime dispute case with India.
She is also expected to attend the Federation of Bangladesh Associations in North America Conference.
She will visit the UK on September 7 to inaugurate e-commerce at the Bangladesh High Commission.
She will return on September 8 but will leave for Bahrain on September 9 for a two-day bilateral visit.
Then she will fly for the UAE to attend the third International Counter Piracy Conference, with the key theme “Countering Maritime Piracy: Continued Efforts for Regional Capacity Building”, in Dubai on September 11.
