Death anniversary

Today is the ninth death anniversary of eminent journalist and writer Santosh Gupta.
On the occasion, Santosh Gupta Smriti Parishad will place wreaths at his memorial at Postagola crematorium in the capital at 10:00am, says a press release.
Santosh Gupta was born in 1925 at Runshi, Jhalakathi.
He had been involved with left politics before he started journalism at the daily Azad (now defunct) in 1957.
Santosh served the daily Sangbad as senior assistant editor and he worked at the daily for about 35 years.
He also made significant contributions to the country's democratic movements, including the Liberation War in 1971.
