DCC commissioner, 7 others sued for killing Jubo League leader

Hundreds of people chanted slogans in front of Mohammadpur thana yesterday afternoon demanding immediate arrest of the killers of Jubo League leader Yunus Ali.

Yunus Ali, a resident of Babar Road, was gunned down by a group of assailants in front of his business firm in the city's Kalyanpur area Monday night.

A murder case was filed with Mohammadpur thana accusing DCC commissioner of ward no: 45 Habibur Rahman Milon, his brother Helal, a local businessman Ansar Haji and unidentified five others.

Mizan, also a local Awami League leader, has been absconding since the incident, police said, adding they raided Mizan's Shyamoli residence yesterday afternoon. Police, however, could not arrest anyone in connection with the murder till last night.

Police said Yunus was also accused in a number of cases filed with police.

Riot police have been deployed in Babar Road area to avert any untoward incident.
