CU 'BCL men' attack Shibir member

A Chittagong University (CU) unit Islami Chhatra Shibir activist was attacked allegedly by some Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) activists, who also halted a CU shuttle train for half an hour yesterday.
Mohammad Arif, a 3rd year economics student undergoing treatment at the CU medical centre, was attacked before the arts faculty around 12:30pm following an altercation over a trivial matter, said a Shibir leader.
However, a BCL leader said Shibir activists attacked first, triggering a fight. The train was halted in protest of the incident, said CU sources.
CU Proctor Anwar Chowdhury said the CU authorities would take steps if the injured files a complaint.
