Couple killed as truck hits motorbike in Jessore

A couple was killed when a truck rammed their motorbike from behind in Jessore town Friday evening.

The deceased were identified as businessman Abdul Karim, 40, and his wife Salma Begum, 32, in the district town, reports our Jessore correspondent.

Police said a paddy-laden truck rammed the motorbike in Palbari area around 6:00pm while the couple was returning home after a attending a wedding ceremony in the town.

Emdadul Haque Sheikh, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station, said the law enforcers had picked up the trucker, Shaheen, and seized the vehicle.
