Four murdered
At least four people were murdered on Saturday and on Friday in four districts.
A pulse and land trader was stabbed to death at Feroza Pharmacy in front of Shishu Hospital of Jhenidah town.
The victim was Md Mizanur Rahman, 38, son of Monwar Hossain of Dighal village under Shailokupa upazila.
Assistant Superintendent of Police Milu Mia Biswas said Mizanur was stabbed allegedly by a medicine shop owner Amirul Islam in Sadar upazila.
Meanwhile, criminals killed an elderly farmer at Rasulpur village in Nasirnagar upazila of Brahmanbaria on Friday.
Police recovered the body of Abdul Jalal, 62, son of Abdur Rahman, on Saturday .
Nasirnagar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abu Zafar said the criminals hacked Jalal with sharp weapons while he was guarding his jute-laden boat in the Custo river near his house.
In Bagerhat, a man was hacked to death Saturday morning, allegedly by his son at Jewdhara village.
The deceased was Yunus Ali Hawlader, 65.
Locals caught the victim's son Lal Mia Hawladar, 45, and handed him over to the police, suspecting that he might be involved in the killing.
Meanwhile, a woman was strangled allegedly by her husband at Hiraganj village in Nabiganj upazila of Habiganj on Saturday over her husband's extra-marital affairs.
Police arrested the victim's husband Nur Alam.
Victim's father Asad Mia said his daughter Rumi Akter, 25, told him that Nur had an affair with a woman and threatened to kill her (Rumi) when she protested.
He alleged that his daughter was killed by Nur over his affair with a woman.
