Cops release wrongly held man in face of protest in Barisal

Police arrested a man suspecting that he was a Jamaat-e-Islami activist at Sagordi area in Barisal city on Friday night.
The arrested identified as Abdur Rahman, 60, is a trader of milk products at Sagordi Bazar in the city.
Nazmul Huda, president of Sagordi Bazaar Committee, said a team from Kotwali Police Station, led by Sub-inspector Delwar Hossain, arrested him at his house.
Following the arrest, hundreds of people yesterday blocked the road in Sagordi area of the city demanding his release saying that he had no connection with any political party.
Later, the police released Abdur Rahman saying that he was arrested on wrong information.
