Construction of Rupsha Bridge demanded
Khulna, Jan 3: The Greater Khulna Development Coordination Committee (KDCC) announced a fresh agitation programme to press home its 18-point demand including construction of the Rupsha Bridge and development of the Mongla Port, reports UNB.
KDCC demanded immediate construction of the Rupsha Bridge and solution to problems of the Mongla Port including dredging of the river.
KDCC president Abu Mohammad Ferdous announced the programme at a press conference this afternoon.
The programmes include blockade in Khulna City for 3 hours from 11 am on February 16, blockade at Rupsha Ghat for two hours from 11 am on March 8 and human chain at Mongla port at 11 am on April 12.
Former Minister Amzad Hossain, KDCC secretary general Daud Ali, local political leaders and elite of the city were present at the press conference.
