Confiscate properties of fugitive accused
A Dhaka court yesterday ordered police to confiscate the properties of three fugitive accused in schoolboy Parag Mondol abduction case and asked to submit the report on execution of the order by May 15.
The fugitives are Md Akash, Md Sultan and Md Wasim.
Earlier on March 31, the court issued arrest warrants for them following an appeal sought by the investigation officer of the case on March 23 in his charge sheet.
The court also rejected the bail petition of another accused Abul Kashem.
Keraniganj police yesterday submitted a report on execution of arrest warrant against the three saying that police have earlier raided their (the fugitives) houses to arrest them but they went into hiding.
Parag, 6, was abducted on November 11 last year from Keraniganj. The culprits had shot and injured his mother Lipi Rani Mondol, sister Pinaki Mondol, and their driver Nazrul Islam during the abduction.
Parag was freed on November 13 after his family reportedly paid a ransom of Tk 50 lakh.
