Classmates kill boy over extorted money

A college student was killed allegedly by two other students in Satpai rail crossing area of the district town on Saturday night.
The dead was identified as Abdul Mannan, 17, son of Abdul Malek of Satpai rail crossing area in the town.
Mannan was a HSC student  at Netrakona Government College, said Mohammad Mofizuddin, officer in-charge (OC) of Netrakona Sadar PS.
Police said, Mannan and his two classmates Hasan and Satu had been extorting  people in Satpai rail crossing area for long.
A few days ago they locked in a conflict over share of the extorted money, he said.
Following an exchange of hot  words between the three on Saturday night, Hasan and Satu jointly attacked Mannan with sharp weapons and killed him on the spot.
A case was filed with Netrakona police station in this connection.
Police could not arrest any of the accusing till filing of this report yesterday afternoon.
