Throat-slit body of woman found

A woman was found dead with her throat slit at her house in Barbakpur village of Rajbari yesterday.

The deceased is Hajera Begum, 50.

Hajera and her daughter-in-law, Shopna Begum, 23, went to bed around 10:00pm, said her husband Tomij Uddin Sheikh. “Suddenly, I heard a scream. When I went inside the bedroom, I found her throat-slit body. Shopna also sustained knife injuries,” he said.

Abdul-al-Toabir, sub-inspector of Sadar Police Station, said police sent the body for autopsy. A murder case was filed.
