Shun conspiracy over election

Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammed Nasim yesterday urged BNP leaders to shun conspiracy over the next national election.

He said this while addressing a discussion and doa mahfil at 250-bed TB Hospital at Dhaka's Shyamoli, marking National Mourning Day.

The election would be held under the Election Commission as per the constitution, he said.

Prof Abu Rayhan, deputy director of the hospital, presided over the programme. Dr Rokeya Sultana, health and population affairs secretary of Awami League, Prof M Iqbal Arslan, president of Swadhinata Chikitsak Parishad, and Dr MA Aziz, its secretary general, were present, among others.

Nasim urged people to cast their votes in favour of “boat”, the electoral symbol of Awami League.
