Painting and essay writing competitions for school students from playgroup to class ten were held in Bogra on Thursday, on the life of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Bogra Zila Parishad and Zila Shishu Academy jointly arranged the programmes at Zila Parishad Academy on National Mourning Day, the 38th martyrdom anniversary of Bangabandhu.
Around 13 students from different educational institutions in the town participated in the painting competitions while around 80 students took part in the essay competition.
Later prizes were distributed among the winners at Zila Parishad Auditorium on Thursday noon.
Deputy Commissioner of Bogra, Safiqur Reja Biswas, Administrator of Zila Parishad Dr. Mokbul Hossain, ADC (General) Khorshed Alam and district organiser of Shishu Academy Shah Md. Ishahaq Ali were present at the prize giving ceremony.
