Charge framing hearing deferred again

A Dhaka court on Thursday for the seventh time deferred until May 20 the hearing on charge framing against BNP acting Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and 28 others in a blast case.

Shahbagh police filed the case against them for aiding and abetting the bombings inside the Secretariat during the opposition's April 29 hartal last year.

Judge (in-charge) Anisur Rahman of the Court of Metropolitan Sessions Judge deferred the hearing as Fakhrul and most of the accused remained absent in the courtroom.

The accused could not appear before the court as they are now under police custody in several other cases.
