Cabinet approves budget

The cabinet has approved the national budget for fiscal 2013-14 Thursday afternoon.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina chaired the meeting, being held at the parliament complex.
Finance Minister AMA Muhith is expected to place Tk 222,490 crore budget at the Jatiya Sangsad at 3:00pm.
This will be the last budget of the Awami League-led grand alliance government.
Together with the copy of the finance minister’s budget speech, the government will release supporting documents to be downloadable from www.mof.gov.bd.
Feedback on the budget can be left behind on the website, which the finance ministry says would be taken into consideration.
The documents will also be made available at these websites: www.bangladesh.gov.bd, www.nbr-bd.org, www.imed.gov.bd, www.bdpressinform.org and www.pmo.gov.bd.

A post-budget press briefing will be held at Osmani Memorial Auditorium at 4:00pm on June 7.
